We have been diving here for the past 6 months, since may and we have collected over 5,000 golf balls. This is over 500 pounds of plastic debris which is very toxic to the marine environment because it contains Zinc Acrylate. To find more information check out the link in our bio.
The cove we are diving under is just under the pebble beach golf course

The majority of the debris seems to have been dropped off the pier by fishermen, or to be parts of the pier which had broken off (and subsequently repaired/replaced) during the worse weather of the winter months
Massive thanks to all the divers who came out to lend a hand, cleaning up one of our more popular local, Open Water level (and above) dive sites
Previously unseen (presumed home-made) fishing lure which was designed like a cage inside which a dead fish would be placed
Strong winds, some rain

Fishing will will caused net, fishing hook, and line, and of course empty drinks bottles being left in the sea.
And of course this is due to those fisherman are lack of knowledge on protecting our seas, by throwing non-biodegradable items into the sea, not knowing that those mentioned items will jeopardise the marine ecosystem.
