Special thanks to my assistants and fellow PADI Pros Matt Lewis, Jessica Mills, and Course Directly Kenneth Redifer. Also, couldn't have done this without the support of my lovely wife, Jody King!
Two weeks prior there were strong on-shore winds and heavy seas. This site is adjacent to a river outlet, although there have been relatively light rains. This is a popular fishing spot.
Complete automobile headlight assembly.
Moderate conditions with winds (10-15kts) and seas (2-4') from the northwest. Little rain. Two weeks previous were very windy conditions (25kts+) with seas over 6-8'.

We saw a school bag that has become a home to crustaceans. Very interesting.

at the start of the dive we struggled to find debris as the regular cleaning is paying off. We have had comments about how clean the reefs are looking from other dive shops.

In general the whole of Vietnam needs to be educated about sustainability and waste management. Customers and staff alike are shocked when they see their behaviour first time, appalling. Also, 99% drops anchor and don't care where, we try to explain we need permanent moorings but they say it's too expensive and people will steal rope, they also say they don't really care when we say don't drop the anchor over coral. They need to be educated in seamanship and diving practices in general as well, none knows what the dive flags look like and their meaning so many times when we are diving other boats come in to the dive site and drops anchor straight over our heads, all of us have been dodging anchors at least once.
Bad fishing practices, overfishing and lack of respect of their own reefs and ecosystems.
Highly polluted with all kinds of chemicals going straight into the sea unfiltered also the waste management is horrible. I see them everyday just dumping all their waste straight into the sea.
Education needed very bad.
