The pier had recently undergone renovations and it was very pleasing to see that they (council or construction company?) had done a amazing job of clearing the waste/litter/debris since the work has been completed. On previous dives at this sight we have always collected significant debris from the pier area but not this year!
Plastic cover for a boat engine.
Rain on and off all week, heavy rain night prior to dive.

This area is heavily fished from an old pier, and from the shore. They tend to get their lines stuck on coral and it breaks off when they jerk on it. It is very close to shore, and very heavily fished.
