Strong cyclonic winds two weeks piror brought an influx of these abandoned fish aggregation devices (FADs) of the tuna fishing indistry brought in the from their nearby fishing grounds. We noticed it arrive a weeks or so ago.

fishing line as we have alot of local fisherman using lines to catch reef fish which gets caught in the coral and they cut it free leaving most of it including hooks tangled in the reef
plastic bags. Egypt is plastic bag mad and everything goes in bags which get blown around and end up in th sea causing big problems for the fish and especially turtles
plastic bottles. we have no recycling facilities here so lots of plastic bottles end up getting blown into the sea

My partner was Divemaster Joanne Mcgilvray
First clean up dive of our adopted Reef, was excited and also saddened because it is such a big job. Picked up a pepsi can with a small moray in it and thought maybe we should leave cans. Making the decision about what to leave and what to take can be distressing and brings on feelings of guilt.
