In Viet Nam the waste management is dire. With the increase in tourism it's getting worse and they are not trying to do anything about it. They gladly take money from tourism but the waste goes straight out into to nature. It is a classic problem, money today don't care about tomorrow. Seas and land here is plastic fantastic.
Poor waste management, overfishing. Poor education, for sailmanship, lack of respect for our planet and it's inhabitants. Whatever garbage the locals have here, especially around An Thoi the throw it straight into the sea. Even the boats we hire do as we get back from the daytrips. They do not understand us and when we ask people to tell them to stop they say they are afraid as the boat crews have gangs and attack people that disagrees or complains.
