An excessive rainfall in 2015 caused an immense amount of water to flood all the seafront area. Skopelos is a mountaineous island so the force of water carried away even voluminous objects like cars, motorbikes, urban firniture and a lot more which end up naturally in the sea. Since then we 've dived several times to retrive and recover whatever we could possibly handle, together with coastal support by tow trucks and others from the coast. Additionally one small river empties on this beach, bringing sediment and creating silt at the seafloor that covers most of the debris that ends up on the site.
one more car that was not recovered from the previous time because of the distance from the coast and the fact that is half burried in the sand.
