This Dive Agaainst Debris was organised together with the Municipality of Skopelos and many people participated like freedivers, the Nautical club, the port Authorities and more. It was a very successful and productive dive.
The fact Loutraki is the 2nd biggest port of Skopelos island, contributes to this augmented burden in terms of marine debris (especially of some specific categories like rubbers) and difted or discarded waste.
Calm and cloudy weather conditions with no wind, 27C temperature

This site - plastics- mostly bottles - beach-goers do not ensure that trash is put in receptacle, and the management of dumpster pick-up adds to this
fishing line - many shore fishermen fish over rocks- breaking/losing line
plastic bags - they are carried on the winds and end up in the water from multiple points

I have noticed that this year there is substantially more marine plant life than I have ever seen here over the previous 5 years. This is resulting in more fishing line/string/ropes being tangled around the plant life. Also, the area seems to have many more fish that is typical for this time of year. Overall, this year it is a much more pleasant area to dive.
Video of the entire dive is here: https://youtu.be/68r7On_Jxxc

The area surveyed is a popular location for Fisherman to fish from the rocky shore, leading to the loss of many fishing weights and hooks, and a lot of monofilament line is collected here regularly.
