Flinders Pier

It is awesome to see such a small pile of debris collected from beneath Flinders pier, especially because Flinders is one of Melbourne's most famous pier dive sites. Regardless, every piece of debris counts and contributes to the greater problem facing the ocean; and so every action taken against it, no matter how large or small, is fantastic. Thank you to all divers who participated, especially considering the unfavorable conditions on the day. You are awesome!
Debris at the pier has mostly been discarded by the public, rather than being washed in from anywhere else. Most of the fishing lures, lines and squid jigs are discarded by fishermen.
