Prior to diving, a training was given on the Scrutiny of Underwater Marine Litter for Divers and after the dive, weighing was carried out, segregation by type of waste (9 categories), registration, disposal (recycling) and final report.
Not many fish were seen on the seabed but they were benthic such as stars and sea urchins.
We also rescued from the debris an octopus that was released into the sea.
Six divers participated in this initiative; 3 military divers from the Navy and 3 sports scuba divers (PADI), they were divided into 3 groups and with the support of a lifeline and a rubber boat on the surface as they collected garbage in sacks they carried it up.

This was our Aware Week event. We had 11 buddy teams (22 divers in total)
We did a combined beach and UW cleanup. Our UW cleanup produced 86 kg of debris which we took to our recycling centre. Our beach clean-up produced 23 garbage bags of debris - mostly plastic food containers - which we sorted and took to the recycling centre.
A credit card (not working - we tried!)
Fine and calm

Ghost net was found in the first 5 minutes of our dive. Cut it into pieces and spent the whole dive trying to detangle the live corals from it. We had to leave a section of it that was tangled in rubble.
