Op 22 april, op de Dag van de Aarde, kondigt Project AWARE® het nieuwste initiatief aan voor het gevecht tegen afval in zee: Adopteer een duikstek™. Door gebruik te maken van de unieke onderwatervaardigheden van de duikgemeenschap roept “Adopteer een duikstek” duikleiders over de hele wereld - inclusief duikinstructeurs, duikcentra en duikresorts - op om betrokken te raken bij doorlopende, plaatselijke bescherming en monitoring van onze onderwaterspeelplaatsen.

En el Día de la Tierra, el 22 de abril, Project AWARE® anuncia su reciente iniciativa de apoyo a la lucha contra los residuos marinos: Adopt a Dive Site™ (Adopta un Sitio de Buceo). Aprovechando el inigualable conjunto de destrezas subacuáticas de la comunidad de buceo, Adopt a Dive Site™ insta a los líderes del buceo de todo el mundo – entre otros a los instructores de buceo, dive centers y resorts – a participar en la protección local continuada y a realizar el seguimiento de nuestras zonas recreativas subacuáticas.

Per il 22 aprile, ricorrenza del prossimo Earth Day, Project AWARE® annuncia la sua ultima iniziativa a sostegno della lotta contro i rifiuti marini: la Adopt a Dive Site™ (Adotta un sito d’immersione). Sfruttando le capacità specifiche alla sua comunità di subacquei, Adopt a Dive Site chiama a raccolta i leader dell’immersione di tutto il mondo – inclusi Istruttori, Dive Center e Resort – perché s’impegnino ancor più nell’attuale azione di tutela e monitoraggio dei siti sommersi che amano.

Am Tag der Erde, dem 22. April, präsentiert Project AWARE® der Öffentlichkeit offiziell seine neueste Initiative zum Kampf gegen den Müll im Meer: Adopt a Dive Site™. Adopt a Dive Site macht sich die einzigartigen Unterwasser-Fähigkeiten der Tauchgemeinschaft zunutze und fordert weltweit die Leader der Tauchbewegung - Tauchlehrer, Tauchcenter und Tauchresorts - dazu auf, sich dauerhaft direkt bei sich vor Ort für den Schutz und die Überwachung unserer Unterwasserspielplätze zu engagieren.

En préparation à la "Journée de la Terre" (Earth Day), le 22 avril, Project AWARE® annonce sa dernière initiative, qui soutient le combat contre les déchets marins: Adopt a Dive Site™. En exploitant l'ensemble des techniques uniques de la communauté de la plongée, l'initiative Adopt a Dive Site exhorte les leaders de la plongée du monde entier – notamment les instructeurs et les centres et bases de plongée – à s'engager dans une protection continue et locale en contrôlant leurs zones sous-marines.

Australian scientists managing the Great Barrier Reef have lifted their emergency response to the highest level following the publication of video footage of damage caused by coral bleaching.
Authorities this month said that areas of the World Heritage site were experiencing the worst bleaching in 15 years, at least partially as a result of the current El Niño, one of the strongest in two decades.
Coral bleaching is a process by which coral expels living algae, causing it to calcify. Coral can only survive within a narrow band of ocean temperature.
