Turkey, a beautiful trashy country

Just some of the trash at Fethiye marina that was floating around.
updates

In june 2019 I arrived to Istanbul to celebrate rate my dad's birthday.

3 weeks later went to Turkey's south west coast, a beautiful place called Fethiye. There is a lot of diving there, I spent 7 put of 10 days diving.

The major trash wasnt underwater, yet, thanks G-D, but floating around. I did what I could to pick up as much as trash as possible.

Underwater I found a lot of fishing nylons, bottles, cans a paint from the wooden goletas that are terribly painted.

Then came back to Istanbul and started to realize that people just dont care. Went diving not far from Istanbul, at an island called Buyukada. Also found some trash underwater.

But was in a place called Kerpe, a village by the east coast, the black sea side where I found a lot of underwater trash. I picked up at least 30lbs of trash or more in 2 dives.

For the last 3 weeks I've been going to a forest called Belgrade, here in Istanbul. The amount of trash that people leave is uncountable. I've been going there with garbage bags and gloves. I have been able to clean two areas by myself.

The Bosphorus might be filled with trash underwater and in this passage you can see dolphins crossing and for sure they suffer from the contamination.

I would love if Project AWARE could help me create a huge campaign here in Turkey to clean up cause I do believe that a lot of trash from this country goes to the oceans.
