Just before the weather turned here in the southwest of Ireland the past week I tried to optimize my time available with my 12 students & other colleagues, We implemented a massive beach/harbor clean in the immediate area of the dive center.

Splitting into two groups over two days we navigated the sandy shorelines of the beach & rocky outcrops of the harbor, using local knowledge and connections we also made it possible that all waste and debris we collected was picked up the following day through the local council.

to say this project was a huge success is an understatement, we guestimate we took out over 500KG of waste from the shorelines.
