I met this young lady while training rescue divers in Cozumel Mexico.  She wanted to be a diver, but she noticed that I was bringing trash out of the water after every dive.  She was fascinated about why I would pick up trash that wasn't mine.  This was the start of a very involved conversation about how we impact the oceans.  I could see the light come on in her, and she confessed that she had never really thought about it.  The next day I worked with her on a private Discover Scuba Diving session, and she was hooked on saving the blue planet and diving.  I am happy to say that she is now completing her Divemaster, and is an ambassador for the oceans!  A success!  She will talk to anyone that will listen about how we need to protect our oceans. She sent a very nice letter to PADI about her life changing event.  PADI published her letter in the Undersea Journal.
