After our planned dive was cancelled this morning we decided to get on the beach outside the condo and clean it up. As the photo shows, the trash is significant on the secluded beach area and positions itself in a line parallel to shore, presumably a result of being pushed that high by the water.

In around 1 hour, 3 of us filled 7 large garbage bags. At no point did I feel good about it, it was pretty sickening in its abundance.

the trash is easy to categorize. I stopped counting at 300 plastic bottles, there were twice as many bottle tops. There were in excess of 100 flip flops/shoe soles. Dozens of pieces of polystyrene. 5 metal aerosol cans and 2 pieces of medical waste.

I apologize to Project AWARE for not counting precisely but it was just something we decided out the blue as friends to do before we caught our flight.
