Ghost net recovery in Mussandam dive site

Ghost net recovery in Mussandam
updates

A ghost net recovery mission conducted by a team of skilled and certified divers proved to be a great success with Al Mahara divers at Umm Al Fayaarin of the Gulf of Oman in the Mussandam region. Divers cut loose approx 30meter of heavy fishing net a depth of 5meters. The corals underneath the net were bleached and fish bones were found entangled inside the nets.

Ghost nets are fishing nets that have been lost or abandoned at sea, and they can pose a significant threat to marine life as they continue to catch and entangle fish and other marine creatures. The team of divers was able to locate a large ghost net in a popular diving site, and with the help of specialized cutting tools, they were able to carefully remove it from the water. The net was so large that it took quite a bit of time to cut through the net and remove it from the water. The team's hard work and dedication paid off, as they were able to prevent potential harm to marine life in the area. The successful ghost net recovery by divers not only protected the marine ecosystem but also raised awareness about the impact of ghost nets on the environment. The team's efforts serve as a great example of the important role that divers can play in protecting and preserving our oceans.
