updates
Its 7 am on the small island of Gili Trawangan and 11 PADI IDC candidates are making their way to their PADI Instructor Examination. In fact there are no motorized vehicles allowed on the Gili Islands which means that all trips are made on foot, by bicycle or with a horse.

100% Project AWARE Donation on the PADI IDC GiliOn the PADI IDC with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod in the Gili Islands your primary mode of transport will be a bicycle or a horse and cart. So when it comes to training or evaluation sessions on the PADI IDC or IE candidates will not be subjected to dirty old vans driving them to the harbor or to dive sites and kicking out “who knows what” from their exhaust systems, instead they will find they have to walk, cycle or take the traditional horse and cart transport and that most of the time boats leave from directly outside the dive shop.

The Gili Islands have long been well known for their “no motorized vehicle” policy and have attracted a wealth of tourists to the region looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With the increase of tourists comes an increase of people taking their first ever underwater experience and therefore a huge increase in the number of scuba instructors needed at local dive shops on the island.

The PADI Instructor Development Course takes place at Trawangan Dive; a 5 star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) offering the very best of professional PADI training facilities available and all Instructor training is fully conducted by Multi Award Winning Platinum rated PADI Course Director Holly Macleod who has a wealth of experience within the recreational diving industry. The program takes place on an 11 day schedule with an additional 5 days of pre IDC preparation and provides the candidates with the knowledge, skills and confidence to gain a highly rewarding and successful career within the recreational diving industry.
