Earth Day Bash!

Rainbow Reef's Dive Against Debris mangrove boat crew.
updates

The Earth Day Bash was a blast! We spent the morning certifying new PADI Dive Against Debris divers. The weather wasn't cooperating for ocean dives, but that doesn't mean that we can't pick up debris! We took 13 staff members to go to the mangroves for a successful Dive Against Debris! We managed to remove 385 pounds of debris from the mangroves. 1000 feet of line, tires, anchors, fishing nets, clothes, fishing poles, and almost 300 plastic and aluminum cans. After sorting and counting the debris back at the dock we went right into the land portion of the celebration at Sharkey's Grill. Vendors came out (both educational and commercial) to celebrate the earth and raise awareness for marine conservation to the city of Key Largo.
