Every Thursdays a one hour cleanup happens on Malapascua. I am sure to tell my divers to join me for this weekly activity. I bring our divemasters in training as well and be sure that they get their hands dirty during their internship! 

At the end of the cleanup, we weigh the segregated waste: glass, plastic bottles, recyclable (cans, tins, metals and hard plastics), residual. 

We still have a lot to do to make the segregation easier and clearer for everyone helping on a cleanup.  

It is every week about 100kg that is picked up from streets and beach and sent off the island.
