Coral Propagation Trainer Course

updates

On Aug 2-4 ,2018. 8 PADI Professional Divers (Instructors & Divemaster) attended the Coral Propagation trainer workshop organised by 5 star IDC Centre - Seamonkey Dive Centre & Oceon Quest Global / Sea Sheapard Dive in Merang in Conjucton of Malaysia National Day.

Founded in Malaysia in 2010 by Anuar Abdullah,  Ocean Quest Global is an environmental organization at work in seven countries through Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean. After years of research, Ocean Quest Global has created its own techniques, methodology and material for coral reef rehabilitation, which are based on the idea that coral can be restored on a large scale, in an all-natural and non-invasive way.Through its programs and courses dedicated to securing a sustainable future for coral reefs, the organization focuses on giving back to local communities and protecting the marine environment. The Group are lucky to have The founder & Instructor Trainer Anuar Abdullah to conduct the 4 day Course. During these 4 days , we learn about knowledge about the Corals, such as their species, habitats, contributions to the environment. Of course, we also gain experience on how to handle the Corals & Propagation Process. During the practical , we have visited the nursery set up by Annuar & we also pick up live rocks & Pulps for the Propagation. Ocean quest global emphasis on using live rocks & catalyst for the coral propagation instead of the man made structure that cost a lot of money & become ocean trash once the project are not taken care or abandoned due to insufficient fund.

We are happy to gain such experiences & knowledge and wish to share the knowledge by training more Coral propagation Diver . Trainer Who had their dive Centre also can setup their own nursery in their house reef or teach the local community how to use the correct way to propagate the Corals .
