Community cleanup at Sairee

Beach
updates

Recently a lot of trash has been found around Koh Tao, both in the water and on the beach. The reason for the increased debris is currently unknown but with incoming monsoon season, more debris is unfortunately expected to end up on the island.

A message went out to most dive shops on the island, informing about the urge to clean up. For two days, people from Assava and Ban's were cleaning up in the water and on the beach at Sairee. Big debris problems were small pieces of styrofoam and pieces of rope stuck in seaweed.

The cleanup continues today with an underwater and land clean up at Assava's adopted dive site Lighthouse Bay, with help from both customers and staff from Assava and Ban's.
