Working now for the largest company I have ever worked for, I am struggling to make environmental change. I have been successful in all of my previous employments in achieving goals of environmental difference in a relatively small time frame. Now I find myself over a year into my Australian employment and I don’t feel a sense of accomplishment. I have been working hard helping on a lot of instructor courses, and teaching government run programs that include the PADI Open water. Through this I am confident I have made individual change; that is, environmentally conscious and knowledgeable instructors, and kids now with open water licenses and that care about the reef.

But how can I make change on our everyday operations, and feel like I am not just showing the reef to people, but actually making a difference to their daily lives. Multiple ideas are brewing in my head, but with so many levels of management to hop through, it could be a long term commitment, which I have taken. Watch this space … I will not get disheartened!!
