Dive centres are creating innovative fundraising campaigns around the world.Project AWARE relies on dedicated divers to raise funds to protect our ocean planet. Fundraising can be as fun, fishy, flamboyant or FINatical as you like.

Meet Dot. Dive World Brisbane’s newest ambassador. Dot has finally arrived in Australia with plenty of steam to start the Shark Conservation Specialty Course.  Dot is also putting out his first catalogue sale through Facebook. For every person who Tags themselves on the catalogue, Dot will donate $1 to Shark Conservation.

In the UK, Sub-Mission is raising sponsorship online through the "Tough Mudder Challenge”. They’re training like mad for the toughest event on the planet. “On November 18th we’ll be putting ourselves through hell, all in the name of a good cause and team spirit.” said Katy Bloor, Sub-Mission.  They’re encouraging everyone to donate generously to help make the training all worthwhile.

Tough physical challenges aren’t for everyone. It’s just one click to submit a photograph for the Scuba Symphony Photo Contest. 100% AWARE dive centre Scuba Symphony have raised AUD $ 779.00 for ocean protection so far. “Our goal is to raise AUS $1000.00, to do so we're holding monthly underwater photo contests dedicated to Project AWARE and showcasing the beautiful underwater world. Contest prizes given by our sponsors and ourselves are very attractive and have a total value exceeding USD $ 30,000.00!” said Sim, Scuba Symphony.

A Fish Guide App is launching soon, the brainchild of Niclas Andersson, Kon Tiki Lanta, Thailand. “I’m launching a Kon-Tiki fish guide as a mobile application. We’ve worked on this app all summer. The guide is for the Andaman region and will represent 40 families and 240 species of marine life with pictures and funny facts. Everything is touch based and can be used on iPads, iPhones, Android Tablets and Android phones. We’ll donate a part of this to Project AWARE for each application sold. It will be an ongoing donation from now in to the future, to help protect our ocean planet,” said Niclas Andersson, Kon Tiki Lanta. The Fish Guide App is launching soon on both AppStore and GooglePlay.

The team at Sail Rock Divers, Thailand asked divers to LIKE their Facebook page “We asked divers to share this with their friends and help us raise money for one of the most important organisations in the world, Project AWARE! We believe if we protect our seas we can help protect our future. We decided to donate two Thai Baht for even new ‘Like’ we received on the Sail Rock Facebook page, and kept the campaign running until we reached our goal of 10,000THB,” said Alex Arnold, Master Instructor at Sail Rock Divers.
