A Holiday Season Party in Support of Marine Conservation
On December 04th, Just Add Water, a PADI 5-Star IDC located in Willoughby, Ohio, held a Holiday Season Party to thank all their staff and customers for their support and dedication not only to their local dive store but ocean conservation.
The party was the perfect opportunity to announce the winners of the 1% Challenge and AWARE Certification Cards Contest launched by Just Add Water in early 2011. In total, Just Add Water donated prizes valued at more than $600 and raised a whooping $1650 for Project AWARE.
AWARE Certification Card Contest
During 2011, Just Add Water challenged all its instructors to promote Project AWARE to their student divers and encourage them to make a donation to upgrade their standard PADI certification card to a Project AWARE card. Julian Peskin, PADI MSDT, was the grand prize winner, raising more than $500 by promoting the Project AWARE cards to his dive students. In total, Just Add Water instructors raised nearly $900. Julian won a new AquaLung Suunto D6 dive computer. Well done Julian and all Just Add Water Instructors!
Project AWARE 1% Challenge
As part of the 1% Challenge, during 2011 Just Add Water donated each month a modest prize for a prize draw for all who donated to Project AWARE during the month. The Grand Prize draw took place during the Holiday Party for all who donated throughout the year. The Grand Prize, a complete underwater video system, including a JVC digital video camcorder, Ikelite underwater housing & Ikelite Pro Video light was won by Chip Moll who made his winning donation back in March 2011.

Congratulations and THANK YOU to you all! Your support, dedication and commitment are much appreciated. Be assured that the funds raised will be put to good use and will go a long way towards securing strong initiatives for marine debris issues and shark protection measures in 2012 and beyond.
