Although the Dutch navy posts next door in Tugboat Beach, illegal speargun hunting in Directors Bay is also causing distruction to the shallow reef, where many endangered corals like elk- and staghorn colonies grow.
Local fishing bay where lure & bait is thrown into the ocean from a spool and simply cut off when fishing hooks are stuck on the ocean floor; resulting in dozens of meters of plastic fishing line and bait just discarted entangeling endangered shallow corals.
