Celebrating its seventh Anniversary and hitting a record number of venues, the 2020 edition of the Ocean Film Festival will showcase some of the world's most captivating ocean-themed short films. Making a big splash in Australia before touring in Europe, the festival, sponsored by PADI® and other adventure and travel brands, returns this February to light up silver screens in 29 towns and cities across Australia. Designed to mesmerize and enthrall, the Ocean Film Festival showcases a 3-hour celebration of the ocean comprised of sublime footage taken above and below the water’s surface. Since 2014, the unique collection of short films from around the globe documents the beauty and power of the ocean, and celebrates the divers, surfers, swimmers, and oceanographers who live for the sea’s salt spray; who chase the crests of waves; and who marvel at the mysteries of the big blue.

This year's audiences are in for a treat again: surf artic waves in frigid conditions, push the boundaries of technical diving in Polynesia, discover new coral species, canoe the north-west passage, immerse yourself in the world of the humpback whales in Tonga and learn the plight of the Polar Bear, all from the comfort of theatres and venues across Australia.

Inspiring and thought-provoking, the Ocean Film Festival Australia is filled with captivating cinematography, complete with awe-inspiring underwater scenes and fast-paced wave sequences that have been captured from unbelievable vantage points.  Each of the festival’s films conveys a deep respect and appreciation for the ocean and the creatures that call it home.
