Rancho Santa Margarita, California – 8 August 2017 - The Project AWARE global Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Danna Moore as the new Director, Global Operations of the international marine conservation non-profit organization (NGO).

With 10 years of experience fostering high-level stakeholder relationships with NGOs, policymakers, and corporations, Moore is passionate about building odd-bedfellow coalitions to drive change. She has worked with a broad range of communities on ocean issues such as marine debris, habitat protection, and overfishing. Her experience in program development, stakeholder engagement and operations management, have led her to contribute to positive change for the environment throughout her professional career.

Moore most recently worked with Pew Charitable Trusts where she collaborated with local fishermen on alternative gear solutions to decrease bycatch off the California coast. As Vice President at Future 500, an NGO that builds bridges between adversarial groups, Moore built diverse coalitions to advance market policies that would address marine debris. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master of Arts in International Relations, both from San Francisco State University.

“We are confident that Danna’s highly engaged communication style, in-depth understanding of NGO operations, her experience in, and passion for marine protection will all lead to success in carrying forward the long-term strategic mission of Project AWARE,” says Dr. Drew Richardson, Chairman of the Project AWARE Board of Directors.

As Director, Global Operations, Danna Moore leads Project AWARE’s global team in the development and implementation of the overall strategy, global operations, brand, and partnerships.
