THE WORLD OCEANS DAY THEME FOR 2017 IS "OUR OCEANS, OUR FUTURE" 

The main conservation focus will be on plastic pollution prevention and cleaning the ocean of marine litter

This year Jomtien dive center will be focusing on the issue of plastic in the ocean with the better bag challenge and selfie for the sea.

THE BETTER BAG CHALLENGE

PLASTIC TRASH IS CHOKING OUR OCEAN, AND 80% OF IT COMES FROM LAND. WE CAN DO BETTER!

The challenge: promise not take any disposable plastic bags for a whole year. Take a better bag instead!

To help our ocean and its animals, people around the world are promising to stop using disposable plastic bags. Will you join us?

Make an ocean promise, take a selfie for the sea

We all love the ocean. It takes care of us - by providing food, medicine, oxygen and fresh air, transportation, communication… not to mention fun, recreation, and inspiration! The ocean links people all over the world together, and we couldn’t survive without it.

This World Oceans Day, give back to the ocean by promising to do at least one thing in your life to help  keep it healthy. A healthy ocean means healthy humans, dolphins, corals, turtles, fish, and other wildlife for the future. So, pick a promise and post a selfie on social media to share how you’re doing your part for our ocean.

Jomtien dive center pledge to reduce our plastic footprint by :-

• Only providing plastic bags on request in the shop
• No single use water bottles on the boats, we provide cups and a large water dispenser.
• Recycling any plastics we do use.

Join Jomtien dive center on June 8th

We will be arranging an underwater clean up to remove plastic from our local reefs, and taking selfies to show our efforts.
