Marine debris is not only unsightly, it’s dangerous to sea life, hazardous to human health, and costly to our economies. Marine animals become entangled in debris, and even mistake it for food - often with fatal results. Divers, swimmers and beach goers can be directly harmed by encounters with marine debris or its toxins. The environmental damage caused by plastic debris alone is estimated at US$13 billion a year.

HEPCA and PADI are calling on you to join the Project AWARE Dive Against Debris  in Marsa Alam harbor for the biggest underwater clean up date.

We will be meeting on Saturday the 7th of April 2018 in Marsa Alam Harbor at 10:00 AM, where divers will get full briefing about the cleanup and safety producers and full Guideline will be handled at the cleanup location.

المخلفات البحرية ليست فقط قبيحة؛ بل انها ايضا تهدد الحياه البحرية و تمثل خطرا علي الصحة العامة ومضرة جدا لاقتصادنا كما ان الحيوانات البحرية تتعرض للاشتباك بها مما يعوق حركتها و أحينا كثيرة تتناولها بطريق الخطأ ظنا منها انها غذاء و يتسبب ذلك في نفوقها
 
يمكن للمخلفات البحرية التسبب في جرح و اصابه السباحين, الغواصين و المترددين علي الشواطئ و يسبب ذلك جروح خطيره جدا نظرا لما تحمله تلك المخلفات من مواد سميه

 الضرر البيئي الناتج من  المخلفات البحرية يتخطى المليارات فيما يقدر حجم الضرر البيئي من المخلفات البلاستيكية وحدها بحوالي 13 مليون دولار سنويا
