Supported by Seiko Watch Corporation and PADI, Auckland Scuba are running a Dive Against Debris event at Leigh Harbor in the Rodney District. This site is a fun inner harbor dive site which can usually be dived when strong Easterlies restrict the options for diving in the Leigh area. However, being a narrow harbor, it often collects debris in its shallower depths and a popular fishing wharf nearby usually results in lots of entangled fishing line and items dropped around the seabed in the area. We will run a fun event day for divers to safely collect and record the rubbish and debris in the area. There will be spot prizes on the day in various categories such as most items collected by a team and the most unique item found.
