تود الغرفة أن تُحيط سيادتكم علماً بصدور قرار السيد اللواء محافظ البحر الأحمر رقم ١٦٧ لسنة ٢٠١٩ بشأن حظر إستخدام الأكياس والأدوات البلاستيك والتي تُستخدم لمرة واحدة لأغراض المشروبات و/أو المأكولات بنطاق مُحافظة البحر الأحمر وعلي متن اليخوت السياحية - يخوت السفاري ويخوت رحلات اليوم الواحد - عدا الأكياس الثقيلة المستخدمة لغرض جمع القمامة ، حفاظاً علي البيئة البحرية بمحافظة البحر الأحمر ، وذلك اعتباراً من ١ يونيو ٢٠١٩.

مُرفق لحضراتِكم قائمة لبعض الموردين مُصنعي بدائل إستخدام البلاستيك ومشتقاته وذلك تسهيلاً علي حضراتِكم لتوفير بدائل البلاستيك بأنواعه.

Dear colleagues CDWS members,

CDWS would like to inform you about Red Sea governor decree no. 167 for year 2019 concerning the ban of plastic bags and disposable plastic utensils in Red Sea governorate and onboard of touristic boats - both safari & daily - for food and beverage purposes, in order to fight marine pollution, except for trash bags used for garbage collection.
• The decree states the following:
Article 1
As from the 1st of June 2019, Red Sea governor resolution no. 498 for year 2008 regarding the prohibition of the use of plastic bags in public stores providing food, such as restaurants, supermarkets, groceries, butchers, fish and fruit & vegetables shops should be implemented.

Article 2
1- the Decree strictly prohibits the use of plastic bags and/or plastic utensils (forks - knives - spoons - plates - cups & straws) used for food & beverage purposes onboard of touristic boats - both safari & daily boats - within Red Sea governorate, in order to preserve the marine environment. This ban doesn’t include heavy trash bags used for garbage collection.
2- the decree strictly prohibits the use or trade of disposable plastic utensils used for food & beverage purposes.
3- the decree strictly prohibits the handle or production or trade of the following:
A) plastic bags thinner than 0.025 mm.
B) all plastic utensils mentioned above and used for food & beverage purposes.

Article 3
It is not permitted to provide license for any plastic producer factory within the Red Sea governorate.

Article 4
All decrees contradicting the provisions of this decree shall be revoked.

Article 5
All actors involved should respectively implement this decree and transmit it to the competent authorities.
