While pursuing their Advanced Open Water certifications, the father-son team of Peter and Dylan became excited to take on marine debris by opting for the Dive Against Debris Adventure Dive while becoming certified as Dive Against Debris divers! While the materials found on their initial dive during the course work were fairly minimal, those initial dives just were not enough for them.

The very next day they took the initiative and enthusiasm from the class to their own waterfront resort where they were staying in Key Largo, Florida to view the aquatic life and collect whatever marine debris they could.  In 30-40 minutes, they collected an old end table, cans, plastic and line totaling approximately 15 pounds of debris.  Their story is a testament to the infectious nature of the education that divers can experience through PADI and Project Aware!  We at Rainbow Reef Dive Center look forward to being a part of Peter and Dylan's growth and development for marine conservation and their continued diving adventures!
