Join Scuba Leeds to celebrate Project AWARE week on a canal clean up.
The Leeds and Liverpool Canal is situated 300m behind Scuba Leeds and connects the Irish Sea to the North Sea, with several inlets into the River Aire. Any litter dropped here has a real chance of finding its way to our Ocean. The litter that stays more local is a visual eyesore and causes harm to our local wildlife in and out the water.
So we have decided we will be leaving our fins at home and staying on dry land to remove debris and clean up a part of our canal. By removing as much rubbish as we can improve our local waterways and footpaths for all.
So if you fancy a litter picking session to help our local area, please come along and help us pick up as much litter as we can find. Everyone is welcome (the more the merrier) and tea and coffee will be available before and after at the dive centre. We have free parking at the centre (or for those who wish to travel on bike - these can be stored securely during the litter pick up). At 6.30pm we will head down to the canal to see what we can find. All equipment will be provided, we just ask everyone to wear sensible shoes.
We look forward to seeing everyone there. If you would like to come along please contact Scuba Leeds on 0113 263 8977
We hope to see you there :)
