365 Diveable Days of Debris
Ends
We've been telling you for a while now that we have been working on something AMAZING. Well the time has come to FINALLY let the Cat out of the bag and let you all in our awesome plans for next year.....
Clean up Crew - Environmental Divers working with our friends at the Project AWARE Foundation, PADI, Gold Coast Waterways Authority, Queensland Scuba Diving Company, Professional Dive Services, Devocean Dive and Sea World Research, Rescue & Conservation will be undertaking the longest continual marine debris survey EVER conducted in the world.
365 Diveable Days of Debris to be exact.
We will be working with all of our major partners and sponsors closely over the 365 Diveable Days of Debris survey period to remove, sort and submit the data from these dives conducted within the Gold Coast Seaway and Broadwater.
The Gold Coast is home to the second largest canal and waterways system in the world, so is an absolutely perfect place to undertake this challenge.
As this is a world first, the debris data collected will be invaluable to future planning at a local, state and federal level. This data will go a long way to assist in putting these future plans and policies into place and ensuring our waterways are kept clean while finding many possible potential solutions in minimising the amount of debris ending up in our waterways.
While 365 Diveable Days of Debris does not sound glamorous or seem too inviting to most we can assure you we can not wait to get started!
