Comments Green Sea Turtle. This turtle has a hook in his mouth, he has been seen at this site often but none of our cleaners were able to remove the hook.

The week before a large swell had made our dive site unsafe to dive. This could have distributed the debris elsewhere and spread out the trash making us unable to collect.

Car battery. This was the most difficult item to retrieve.

What a successful and rewarding clean up. The 26 participants were enthusiastic about being able to contribute their efforts in making our local reefs healthy and safe. Twenty three of the twenty six participants were divers. We had seven Dive Master Candidates who helped the buddy teams drop their items at set up pick up/ holding stations. These stations were large baskets held up by buoys. Each buddy team had one-two mesh bags to collect trash and other items. Most of our debris we recovered were led weights used by the fisherman who fish off the side of the wall. The led weights scattered the area, but out main concern was the fishing line attached which caused a major hazard to the sealife in the area. All in all we had a successful trip and feel so honored to be apart of this Movement Against Debris.
