dead sharks

We encountered six dead and butchered black tip sharks and one infant hammerhead shark under the pier where we were collecting the debris. Fishermen must have caught them and cut their heads off and let them bleed out. We could not tell if this was evidence of finning. They left the infant hammerhead in one piece but dead. We plan to contact an official in the city of Port Aransas and try to convince them to make it catch and release only on that pier and all fishing areas in that town.
