There is carpet on the silty bed that has been there for years - a couple of years we pulled out some but felt it was quite dangerous to try again without a lift bag (very heavy). I don't believe anything is growing in it.
This site gets some rubbish from run off (but not a lot), fishermen use the pier and I believe boats do dump things there (or things just fall off the boats). In the past we have found a lot more rubbish but conditions were not the best and we only had 3 people due to the very heavy rain.
