Type of Debris | several small snapper caught in gill nets - alive, but unable to free them |
Comments | We removed one fishing net and a grouper that had recently died and was caught in it. We passed a long length (100+ metres) of gill net that had recently been set. several (3?) small juvenile snapper caught in the net, were still alive but we had no cutting tools to free them. We were inadequately equipped to remove the gill net. |
Additional Information
This section of reef appears to be actively fished by local fishermen with gill nets.

Comments and Feedback
We'll return better equipped next time - we were not prepared for such a large amount of net.
