hi AWARE Team, it was the first time we took the chance to do something for our environment on one of the most beautiful divesites in Sri Lanka. The propblem here are the tons of fishing lines and old bouylines which are spread over the whole divesite. Our plan is, to remove the lines and nets first to get the light back into the reef. After that, we will take care for plastic and metal and other debris dowen there. FYI we will conduct this DAD every friday until the end of the season in Nilaveli. The first day we removed 73 kg lines and fishernet with 10 divers and 4 boatmen on the surface in one dive for 60 minutes. Will be continued.

An action video of our first DAD will follow shortly.
