As you already know, plastic is a huge problem here in the Philippines. Everything comes in plastic. Do you want a cookie. You have to buy at lest 2 pack, wrapped in plastic, then there is the cookie plastic wrapping and then each and every cookie is wrapped in plastic, and all of this is put in a plastic bag. When many people buy what they need for their small shops everything comes in portion size. The coffee, the shampoo, the conditioner, the noodles, the cookies, they eat it in a few minutes and then many leave it on the ground. People here dont know why they should not through it on the ground. Its the easiest way for them and it is what their parents always have done and their parents before them. No trash bins exist outside the resorts. Education. If there is any way to get into the schools and talk to the children, get them to understand what happens with their garbage (the ugly journey of your trash) and get them dedicated, do a clean up with them, involve them. It starts with the kids and what they will learn their children in the future and it goes on and on. It is a big project. And we all have to help. We are so many that care and want to do something about it. Together I hope we can find a solution.
Thank you for all the great things you do and we are happy to do whatever we can.
Kind regards
Caroline
