Fishing: Nets & Pieces Of Nets 1

From time to time large fishing equipment is dumped by boat intentionally or as in this case lost by getting stuck on the bottom causing a serious danger to the reef health.

The fishing net , it was entangled with soft corals and it was difficult to remove while making sure we did not damage the reef

This site is part of the Al Dimaniyat marine reserve. It is a pristine environment off the cost of Oman. It has healthy coral reefs. It was difficult to remove due to the fact it was covering some soft corals so we had to do a painstaking work to make sure we did not damage the corals The weight was also a challenge as the whole net is extremely heavy.

100kg fishing net
