Additional Information
This is an area frequented by fishermen. When conditions are clear fisherman have reported seeing bottles and cans in this area on a usual basis.
A large cinder block. Given the location we guess it may have been used at one point as a makeshift anchor by fisherman and probably came untied.
Aluminum cans
Glass bottles
Miscelaneous plastics
Comments and Feedback
Despite terrible visibility after storms the previous couple of days 4 intrepid divers joined me for the cleanup dive in 47 degree water. The visibility was literally less than one inch, so this was a "dive-by-feel" muck dive. Thanks all for sticking with the dive!
Based on reporting from fishermen who frequent this part of the Creek we know there are bottles and cans littered about the bottom so we intend on coming back to try again under more favorable conditions. Kane's Creek feeds into the Potomac River and is part of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, an extremely important part of our local ecosystem.
