An unusual artwork, over 300 informed tourists about #cleanseashore and 10 kg of marine litter brought to surface by 37 divers from Black Sea. This is the „catch” of the event organized by Mare Nostrum NGO on June 3, in order to mark World Environment Day. Early in the morning, Mare Nostrum volunteers started the artwork of 16 000 cigarettes butts, the amount found on Romanian beaches during the last marine litter monitoring from October 2016. Meanwhile, a group of 37 divers explored the depths of Black Sea and „fished” about 10 kg of litter in 2 hours. During the whole event, a group of 4 volunteers informed around 300 people regarding the problem of cigarette butts, because on the Romanian shore is the most common litter.
