Additional Information
No event specifically. The site we surveyed and collected debris is the main wharf for the ferry between the island and the mainland. This may have contributed to the amount of clothing/food wrappers
A wall analog clock, it had a lot of animals already living inside and was secured well in between the coral. This was not removed.
Food Wrappers. W found so many snack wrappers which are quite small so with any current they would get swept away
Plastic sheet pieces. They get caught in the coral and break into smaller pieces which could get swept away.
Clothing and fragments. These were caught on the coral and some were smothering patches of the reef.
Comments and Feedback
This is not a dive site we do regularly because of its location next to the wharf but will do another Dive Against Debris here soon to compare results. There was a lot of rope that we did not remove as it has been there so long corals and animals have already claimed it. We did see a blue nudibranch we hadn't seen before (Ceratosoma sinuatum).
