Additional Information
Fake plastic garden decorations.
Fake plastic garden decorations - Bali's economy is dependent on tourism, and decorative plastic plants could be due to the pressure of maintaining the islands' reputation for natural beauty.
Burnt unidentified materials - burning waste is a massive problem all over Indonesia, and has become part of the culture. However, it's a method of waste disposal where there is no efficient system implemented.
SCUBA regulator mouthpiece - likely from a diver experiencing a split regulator mouthpiece when underwater during their dive and discarding it irresponsibly from some sense of convenience.
Comments and Feedback
Great group of people turned out from far away countries to local dive guides to help remove debris and protect our ocean! We are finding more and more support from the other dive centers in our area and hope that doing these Dive and Debris surveys will become popular. Conditions were good but there was some strong current at the end of our dive. We managed to still come away with a good amount of debris though. Thanks again to everyone that helped us with our adopted dive site, our house reef, the famous USAT Liberty wreck! ~Bali Dream Divers Tulamben
