WSORC Snorkel Clean-up, August 21st 2014

updates

For yesterday morning's snorkel clean-up of Utila Harbour, Director Lucie and Interns Chris and Louise were joined by the wonderfully willing and enthusiastic DMTs Chris, Tom and Holden from Bay Islands College of Diving. After a quick briefing by Lucie we were all itching to jump in the water and cool off! We managed to collect a whopping 93 lbs between us, the main culprits being plastic bottles, aluminum cans and PVC piping. Certain members of our group were especially thrilled to salvage a working nerf gun from the rubbish.

There are lots of bars situated along Utila Harbour, which explains all the plastic bottles and cans, the PVC piping however remains a bit of a mystery. A big thank you to everyone that made it to the cleanup, you were all incredibly helpful and we hope you all had an enjoyable morning!
