Meet the Monster Boats

updates

When it comes to fishing vessels, monster boats are the worst of the worst. The monster boats profiled here are some of the most destructive and voracious boats out there.

Some of these boats can catch up to 350 tons of fish in one day! Nevertheless, some of the owners are still aggressively expanding their fleets. Often the vessels' catch include unwanted sea life such as dolphins, sharks, sea turtles and others that are thrown back overboard, dead or dying. Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing is commonplace for some of the vessels or their owners.

Collectively, these practices threaten the health of our oceans and the livelihoods of small fishing communities.

Take a look at the monster boats of several countries inlcuding the UK's Cornelis Vrolijk FZN here http://www.greenpeace.org/international/en/campaigns/oceans/Fish-Fairly/boat_list/
