Jeffrey Gallant, president and lead shark scientist of GEERG, will be in Montreal on World Water Day, Wednesday, March 22, for an announcement by Total Diving, a Montreal PADI scuba diving center.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA (March 21, 2012) – Total Diving - Montreal Scuba, a PADI Career Development Center located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada is proud to announce that Jeffrey Gallant, president and lead shark scientist of GEERG will be joining Total Diving’s World Water Day announcement in Montreal on Wednesday, March 22, at 11am.

GEERG (Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group) is a Canadian organization lead for scientist Jeffrey Gallant. The mission of GEERG is to study the Greenland shark and other northern shark species in their natural environment in an effort to promote shark awareness, conservation, and sustainable fishing practices. Sharks are crucial to the world ocean’s equilibrium.

Darcy Kieran has been training recreational scuba diving instructors in Montreal since 2000. He is an instructor trainer for TecRec technical diving courses involving the use of mixed gases like helium and enriched air (nitrox), as well as an EFR and DAN Examiner to train first aid instructor trainers. He is an Industrial Engineer graduate from the Ecole Polytechnique of the University of Montreal, and holds an MBA from McGill University in Montreal.
