On Earth Day Tokoriki diving guests assisted our dive crew in transplanting around 100 coral plugs on to Tokoriki's fringing reef. 

Diving guests can get involved with coral planting at Tokoriki by request, or by signing up to do a PADI Advanced Diver Course and choosing 'Coral Planting' as one of their elective dives.

Return guest John Hewison from Melbourne, really enjoyed the experience saying that "it was extremely rewarding and great fun to take part in such an event". 

Our next coral planting session will be on June 8th to mark "World Oceans Day".  Experienced divers will be assisting us to collect the coral cuttings from healthy coral rich reefs and then help us to glue them on to cement plugs to place on our coral racks.  Watch this space!
