Emergency Cleanup After Storms Bring In Trash

updates

Back in March Sunshine Dive Resort and different shops in Koh Tao often participate in both beach and underwater cleanups. After recent storms, the instructors and divemaster trainees threw together an emergency beach cleanup on April 5, when plastic, glass, rope and various other refuse began to wash up onshore. Ten people picked up 150kg of waste on a 100 meter stretch of the tropical beach in Chalok Baan Kao, on the south side of the island. Through the efforts of the island’s residents, Project AWARE and the Save Koh Tao Foundation they are able to promote and maintain the beauty of this island paradise.
