updates

"Dive Against Debris Clean Up Dives at Hin Wong Bay and Lighthouse - 80 kg of litter including 95 plastic bags, 93 plastic bottles, and 38 aluminum cans.  #projectaware"

Sunshine Divemaster Candidates including Chris, Justin, Derek, Sam and Jan all participated in their Divemaster ECO workshop on co-ordinating the Underwater Clean Up at Hin Wong Bay this April 1st 2015, under the supervision of instructor Emily Hong.

Jan began the day with ensuring all the guests signed the appropriate Clean Up Liability Forms, arranged for the Project Aware Mesh Bags and Gloves to be available to all divers participating in the clean up and necessary paperwork to be able to submit the information to our Oceans Page Data Report on the Debri that was collected.

Photos and Data for the Marine Debri were recently submitted with the majority being plastic bags, plastic bottles and aluminium cans. Noting that Hin Wong Bay recently has had alot of construction, it was concluded that these items found in the bay may be contributed to the development of new resorts in this location.

Our Underwater Clean Ups are conducted monthly through Sunshine Divers and if you are interested please contact us on [email protected] for our next Clean Up Date.
